As the founder of Mary Cooney Connect Coaching, my guiding principal is that all people want to be authentically connected to themselves, their partners, family, friends and community. All people desire to authentically seek out meaningful work that sustains them financially, creatively and intellectually.

 

I am a heart-centered, intuitive coach with a strong business sense. As your coach, I will help you to identify patterns of thoughts or behaviors that hold you back from your greatness and from your purpose. I will help you to create new thoughts, new paradigms and new practical practices that will shift your life to where you want it to be.

 

I am a strong believer in a dynamic holistic approach. I will motivate, encourage, uplift and inspire you to be your highest and best self. I will support you as you pursue the life you truly desire and deserve to live.

  

Training:

 My psychotherapy and coaching background started with a Master in Social Work from Hunter College and post-graduate work at HELIX, a four-year holistic coaching program. I also trained at Coach U-one of the most prominent coaching programs in the country. I have completed their Corporate Coaching certification. I am a proud member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the governing board that oversees coaches, and I abide by their code of ethics.

 

I am also trained and am a Certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator Assessor. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the most widely used assessment tools in the world.  The MBTI is assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The assessment is a profound process to gain insight into an individual, their personality and purpose.  It is an excellent tool for evaluating if an individual is in the right field or career.   

 

As a proud member of Toastmasters International, I have achieved Distinguished Toastmaster status and has twice served as a Presidential Distinguished Past Area Director, President, and VP of Education & Secretary. I has won 3 Area Humorous & Dramatic Speech Contests & placed second on the Division Level. I have had the distinct pleasure of mentoring many aspiring speakers.  I am committed to helping individuals and organizations master the art of communication to empower both individual and collective potential.  To that end I am a Co-founding member of The Quintessential Message Speaker Boot camp. (www.Thequintessentialmessage.com)  Together we have facilitated public speaking training. Topics include: Body Language, Crafting your Personal Message, Effective Evaluations, Evaluate to Motivate, The Power of the Pause, Connecting to your Authentic Voice, Conquering Stage Fright, Creating Success Blue Prints.

My other passion is a life-long interest in yoga. I am proud to have completed the 200-hour yoga teaching training at Dharma Yoga. My instructor, Sri Dharma Mitrra, is a legendary yoga master who has been teaching for more than 50 years. Students from all over the world flock to hear him teach and share a lifetime of wisdom.

I have also passion for studying the esoteric wisdom of the East.  I am a third degree Reiki Master Teacher studying with Pamela Sacco & Russell Clay.  I  have taught Reiki 1 & II classes.

With an extensive background in coaching and corporate recruiting, I have helped hundreds of people find careers that they love. Now, I am using my skills to help my clients find balance in their lives in terms of maintaining, creating and sustaining their relationships and careers and going after their dreams.
